What is the best way to reach The Southern Gourmet?

We are always looking forward to hearing from you, however we are not always at the Café. So, EMAILING us at Southerngourmet@windstream.net is the best way to get in touch with our team for all of your catering questions.

How much notice do we need for a catering order?

A two-business day notice in most cases is ideal for us to shop for & create your special event.  Advance orders always receive special consideration; however, we will always attempt to accommodate last minute orders.

How much do you charge per person?

Each event is unique, and pricing is always based on the menu chosen, so please visit our extensive collection of menus. If you are on a budget, we will be happy to guide you in selecting a menu that accommodates the budget as well as your taste.

Do you provide tastings?

For parties of 75 or more guests, tastings are offered at our Café during business hours. Tastings for secured parties are at no charge, unsecured tastings are $25.00 per menu. For smaller groups, you are welcome to join us for lunch to experience firsthand the creative, high quality menus that we offer.

How do I secure my date?

A $500 NONREFUNDABLE deposit will secure your date and ensure your event will be catered and/or hosted by The Southern Gourmet.

What can The Southern Gourmet provide with a catering order?

Can The Southern Gourmet accommodate special dietary needs?

Yes, all of our food is scratch made so we can guide you to planning the perfect menu for all of your guests.

Does The Southern Gourmet make Wedding Cakes?

Yes, our in-house pastry chef bakes all of our wedding cakes, celebration cakes and desserts from scratch. Please visit our dessert menu for the full selection- https://thesoutherngourmet.net/menus/

Does The Southern Gourmet deliver?

Yes, for orders of $250.00 or more we will be happy to deliver and set up your catering order. Delivery fee will vary based on distance and time of day.

Will there be enough food at my event?

Yes, The Southern Gourmet uses FDA standards for all portion sizes. We recommend that you order for as many guests that you are expecting so that we bring enough food for all to enjoy. We will be happy to assist you in planning the quantities for your menu items.

Can I take leftovers home from my event?

If there is proper refrigeration on site, we will package your leftovers in carryout containers to take home.

Does Southern Gourmet have event space?

Yes, we can accommodate up to 100 guests at a seated dinner or up to 140 cocktail style in our Southern Garden Events venue. Please visit the Southern Garden Menu for pricing. Email southerngournet@windsteram.net with questions or for availability

Is The Southern Gourmet just a catering company?

No, we have a Café open for lunch Monday – Friday 11:00 – 3:00 and Saturdays by appointment. We also have freshly prepared meals, sides, and salads available for pick up  in our grab & go & desserts cases. We offer pick-up options for smaller catering/dessert orders. Southern Garden Events is available 7 days a week. The Southern Gourmet will travel within one hour from Charlotte for your catered event.

How do I make Payments?

We are always happy when you stop by the cafe to say hi! feel free to make your payment while you're there, or you can always give us a call for over-the-phone credit/debit card payments, or drop a check in the mail. 

Please note; Our 3.5% discount that our prices reflect will be removed for any debit/credit card transactions
